Remarks:
The Agreement and its Annexes cover trade in goods, including industrial products, fish and other marine products, and agricultural products, customs procedures and trade facilitation, technical barriers to trade (TBT) and sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS). In addition, it includes provisions on trade in services, investment, government procurement, intellectual property rights, trade facilitation, trade remedies, competition, trade and sustainable development, as well as legal and horizontal provisions, including dispute settlement. The Agreement establishes a Joint Committee that, among other functions, will supervise the implementation of the Agreement, keep under review the possibility of further removal of barriers to trade and other restrictive measures concerning trade between the Parties, and endeavour to resolve disputes related to its interpretation. It also establishes, under the Joint Committee, a sub-committee on Trade in Goods. The Agreement will enter into force upon completion of the internal procedures and ratification by the Parties. The Agreement shall enter into force on the first day of the third month following the date on which at least one EFTA State and one MERCOSUR State have deposited their instrument of ratification, acceptance or approval with the Depositary. The Government of Norway acts as the Depositary for the Agreement.
